Meet the Author

Quynh is a dedicated and experienced Vietnamese language educator with a strong commitment to simplifying and making the Vietnamese language more approachable and engaging for foreigners.

Quynh learned two foreign languages — English & Japanese — so she understands the difficulties of learning a new language. In fact, she used to struggle when studying Japanese because her teacher forced her to memorise lots of boring grammar and vocabulary but ignored the speaking and listening parts, which made her unable to speak Japanese.

Quynh was ready to give up until she got a chance to attend the Japan Foundation's Marugoto Japanese course. The Marugoto teaching method emphasised speaking and listening skills and cultural topics. With renewed confidence, Quynh developed her vocabulary and grammar by role-playing practical situations in Japanese. She got to know more about the culture, people and country of Japan and developed an admiration for the way Japanese people promote their country.

At the same time, Quynh met many foreigners who struggled to learn Vietnamese as she had with Japanese. She decided to do something to help them while also promoting her homeland to the world. Therefore, Quynh applied the methods she had learned to build easy, interesting and practical lessons so that her students could speak Vietnamese confidently, with ease and simultaneously understand more about Vietnamese culture.
